Jonathan D. Daugherty

Counsel

Jonathan Daugherty is a Counsel at Friedman & Wittenstein. Mr. Daugherty's practice involves complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy litigation, including fraudulent and preferential transfer issues, insurance litigation, employment litigation, and securities litigation. He has represented financial institutions, securities exchanges, board members and corporate executives, and individuals in federal and state courts and in domestic and international arbitrations. Mr. Daugherty was recognized as a "Rising Star" in the 2014 issue of New York Metro Super Lawyers, naming him one of the top 2.5 percent of New York Metro lawyers age 40 or under or in practice for 10 years or less. He is a principal drafter of the November 2015 New York City Bar Association Report on Proposed Amendments to Article 9 of the CPLR, which governs class actions in New York.

Mr. Daugherty received his B.A. summa cum laude in Classics from the University of Kentucky in 2001 and his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2004, where he was an editor on the Columbia Journal of Environmental Law and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and is a member of the New York City Bar Association.
